
This is a fresh breeze on a cool summer’s day. It can be smeared on a piece of toast, dolloped on some bean salad, or dipped with some crackers or corn chips. This dip goes beautifully as an accompaniment to many recipes and is therefore the ideal flavour ace to have up your sleeve. Ingredients
1 large ripe peeled and seeded avocado, or 2 medium-sized
1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon rind (lime can be substituted)
1-2 cloves of garlic, crushed
¼ cup Spanish red onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons finely chopped parsley
1 cup of plain yoghurt
Sea Salt
Black pepper ground
Paprika ground, a pinch
Allspice, a pinch
Equipment
- Blender food processor

How to make Spicy Avocado Dip
Blend the peeled and deseeded avocado in the food processor until fully combined.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of finely grated lemon rind, the crushed garlic cloves, 1 cup of plain yoghurt, salt and the freshly ground black pepper, paprika and allspice. Blend the mixture until smooth, then stir in a quarter cup of finely chopped Spanish red onion and 2 teaspoons of finely chopped parsley.
Pair this superb Spicy Avocado Dip with crackers, corn chips, cooked, peeled prawns (shrimps), potatoes, raw button mushrooms, crisp celery, carrot, or capsicum sticks, baby tomato halves, or spread on crispbreads with a slice of cheese for afternoon tea.
